Today, Adam Wells with GSTVC shares with us how the GST team implements best practices in Product Development.
So you have a company-wide published Product Roadmap, with all the appropriate stakeholders bought in. How then does the planned product development not only inform the Sales Team's efforts, but also respond to the Sales Team's continual progress?
The Product Roadmap is compiled and signed off by not only the Product Owner, but also the CTO and Executive Team at large. When the product vision is cast with execution timelines assigned, it is most definitely the Product Development that will direct the efforts of the Sales organization.
It is incumbent upon Sales and Account Management to recognize opportunities for product development, but it is up to the Product Team to properly timeline these opportunities within the solidified Product Roadmap. Otherwise, you will have a tail wagging the dog situation.
There are numerous ways that Sales can inform long term product development; we would be happy to have the occasion to share with you how what boundaries we've seen work and which have caused companies to go off the rails.
As always, we love hearing from you as to what you're experiencing as you drive growth for your company; please reach out below.
